Dear John,

As we embark on what we hope will be the biggest year yet for women’s rights, we’re taking the opportunity to reflect on the progress you’ve made possible.

2019 marked our 30th anniversary and we’re proud to have supported over 30 million individuals in our 30 year history, transforming the lives and communities of women and girls across the world.

We’ve worked with over 282 partners across 37 countries, strengthening women’s movements internationally.

Suntali developed a hearing impairment as a child but living in a country where women with disabilities are often socially excluded, Suntali was denied an education and was raped working on a farm. Through support from our partner the Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) ([link removed]'m-sharing-my-message-so-that-all-women-know-their-rights?utm_source=Womankind+Worldwide+eNewsletter&utm_campaign=80ed2f1dff-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_01_03_05_28&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a2ad3e3d1b-80ed2f1dff-84434581) Suntali is seeking justice against her abuser.

Serkalem ([link removed])
Facing financial difficulties and forced to borrow money at high interest rates, Serkalem was struggling to send her children to school and pay for daily necessities. She joined Siiqqee ([link removed](siiqqee)) , and together alongside other women, has transformed her life for the better through a savings group.

The year ahead…
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to make 2020 the biggest year yet for the advancement of women’s rights. Over the next twelve months thousands of women’s rights advocates will attend events and forums to mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, a landmark agreement to end gender inequality.

In the last 25 years, more women than ever before have realised their rights. But, today there is still much unfinished business in achieving women’s rights for all.

The potential for change in 2020 is huge. But it needs the world to come together and act!
