It’s no secret that President Biden’s failed policies have unleashed economic turmoil — burdening Americans with soaring inflation, exacerbating our national debt, and hurling our economy toward a disastrous recession. Month after month, workers, families, and small businesses face the inescapable realities of Biden’s self-inflicted economic crisis. From pain at the pump and pricey groceries to unaffordable heating bills and shrinking savings, the American people are hurting. We must hold the White House accountable for recklessly and shamelessly wreaking havoc on our economy in order to advance Democrats’ Big Government Socialist agenda.
You may be pleased to know that my latest piece of legislation, the Expose Biden’s Inflation, Deficits, and Economic Neglect (BIDEN) Act, does just that. In short, my Expose BIDEN Act initiates a necessary analysis of the devastation caused by the Biden Administration’s policies and blocks harmful rules from further crushing the American people. Furthermore, any federal agency seeking to issue a replacement rule must first certify that the new rule will not result in a decline in our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or an increase in inflation. Fiscal restraint and responsibility are essential in getting our economy back on track, which is why we must swiftly prevent President Biden’s crippling economic policies from causing further devastation.

Recent reports indicate Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus has been completely unengaged in his job as the White House’s self-inflicted border crisis rages on with no end in sight. According to Administration officials who work with Magnus, he failed to attend meetings about the chaos at the southern border, build relationships with CBP or other agencies, and even stay awake on the job. In response, I proudly joined my good friend and colleague, Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), in demanding President Biden hold CBP Commissioner Magnus accountable for being asleep at the wheel of the spiraling border crisis – contributing to the mayhem at the border and threatening our national security.
Eleven days after my colleagues and I pressured the Biden Administration to call for Magnus’ resignation, he did – sending the President a formal letter announcing his resignation over the weekend. While this is a great start, it’s only the beginning. The disorder at the border has been driven from the very top – including the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, Vice President Harris, and President Biden himself. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both the Oversight and Homeland Security Committees to hold all individuals responsible for weakening our southern border and eroding our national security. Make no mistake, accountability is coming in the 118th Congress.

Last week, I proudly participated in Rep. Chip Roy’s (R-TX) accountability hearing on the COVID-19 pandemic at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. During the discussion, my House Freedom Caucus colleagues and I condemned the severely misguided decisions made throughout the pandemic, including ill-advised lockdowns and the widespread harm caused by the COVID-19 vaccines. Additionally, the hearing featured leading medical experts, such as Dr. Scott Atlas, to provide their vast knowledge and answer our critical questions. As a 28-year Navy combat veteran, I used my time to express my disgust and disappointment with President Biden’s unconstitutional COVID-19 vaccine mandate for our servicemembers, as well as how the military’s medical tyranny has impacted both the Ninth District and my D.C. staff. Rest assured, I remain resolute in the fight against Biden’s military vaccine mandate – and I will not rest until there is justice. Over the last few weeks, Georgians have remembered and honored the legendary University of Georgia (UGA) football coach, Vince Dooley, who tragically passed last month. I join the Peach State in mourning the loss of this UGA Bulldog legend and Georgia giant, as well as the Georgia Congressional Delegation, led by my friend Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), in introducing a resolution to honor Coach Dooley’s remarkable life. Coach Dooley honorably served our nation as a Marine Corps infantryman, mentored and coached thousands of young men, and aided in preserving Georgia and U.S. history. We will always remember Coach Dooley’s impressive life accomplishments, and we will forever celebrate his monumental legacy every time our Dawgs run out on Dooley Field.

Georgia Mountain Food Bank: Team Clyde, including staff from both my D.C. and Gainesville offices, helped put 250 bags together at The Georgia Mountain Food Bank (GMFB). As you may know, the GMFB partners with 65 agencies in North Georgia to address food insecurity across Hall, Forsyth, Lumpkin, Union, and Dawson counties. Since 2008, GMFB has distributed more than 64 million pounds of food to our community, including children and veterans in need. I’m incredibly proud of the work GMFB does to supply food to our local community, as well as the assistance state and national partners provide to ensure GMFB can continue improving the lives of Northeast Georgians. I’m back in Washington this week, where Speaker Pelosi will begin numerous battles in the lame duck session – including the government funding fight. In addition to working together to put the American people first in these upcoming trials, House Republicans will also unite in our endeavor to get our nation back on track when we retake the majority in January. I look forward to having these important discussions with my colleagues as we look toward the future and work toward delivering on our promises. Please know that you and your family's well-being remain my top priority during these meetings, and I’m honored to represent the Ninth’s voices and values through all the challenges that lie ahead. For regular updates on the week ahead, please follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Gettr, and Twitter.
