Every American – regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation – deserves to be a full and equal citizen in our democracy.

As State Senator, I was proud to fight alongside LGBTQ+ advocates and make New Hampshire one of the first states in the country to pass marriage equality. While we have made tremendous progress, as a state and as a nation, there is more work to do.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade this summer, they indicated that marriage equality could be next. This is unacceptable.
