All,
I can hardly believe it has been over a week since Election Day! Thank you again for all your support.
We are moving quickly to create a transition process and I hope you will share your feedback. Last week, I announced the leadership team and structure for my transition.
I’m honored that Comptroller Peter Franchot, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, and State Senator Susan Lee (District 16) will be Honorary Chairs of the transition team.
In addition, former Treasurer Nancy Kopp, State Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk (District 21), and Candace Dodson-Reed will serve as Committee Co-Chairs.
I am incredibly grateful to each of my transition chairs. They are all dedicated leaders who bring unique and important experiences to the table. I am proud to have their support and counsel as I work to ensure that we set up the Comptroller’s office for success on day one. Over the coming weeks, I look forward to creating a roadmap rooted in a shared vision to create a more modern, accessible, and proactive Comptroller’s Office.
The Chairs will help set the agenda and guide the work of several transition work groups, which will parallel the key functions of the Comptroller’s office. We have announced six work groups:
- Procurement & the Board of Public Works
- Tax Administration & Customer Engagement
- Data & Innovation
- Pensions
- Public Engagement
- Local Government Engagement
Each work group will include experts in the respective subject areas representing a broad array of Marylanders. The final result of the transition process will be a comprehensive, transparent report that will guide strategic planning, priorities, and actions for the Comptroller’s office over the next four years.
I campaigned on a promise to be inclusive and transparent. These values remain key tenants of my vision to ensure that the Comptroller’s office serves all Marylanders effectively.
I want to hear from you! Please visit our website at www.brookelierman.com. You can submit ideas, share thoughts, or ask questions. We will be adding more information in the coming days and weeks.
Thank you!
My very best,
