Dear John,

Is this the lion’s last roar?

Wild lions are close to extinction and desperately need your help. The suffering is horrendous. The images are sickening.

It’s awful to imagine the pain and trauma deadly traps can cause. Lions endure agonising, drawn-out deaths in cruel wire snares – set illegally to catch food.

Your gift today could save future lions from suffering this horrific fate.

It’s still legal to hunt and kill lions for ‘fun’. Lions like awe-inspiring Cecil, whose brutal killing in 2015 by a US dentist unleashed a global outcry.

“The grotesque photos posted online by shameless hunters makes my stomach churn,” said our outraged Executive President, Will Travers. “Wealthy westerners posing for selfies next to the bloody corpses of lions whose lives they have gratuitously extinguished. What on earth gives them the right to control, exploit, dominate and slaughter?”

Do you feel as we do? Your gift today could help protect wild lions and fight to end grotesque trophy hunting.

DONATE TODAY ( [link removed] lions#donate )

It’s a simple choice. Either we protect lions and keep them, or do nothing and lose them.

We can’t stand by while the symbol of Born Free is destroyed. With your help, we pledge to be at the forefront of the struggle for lions. If you love lions as we do, please, send your gift today.

Thank you,

From the Born Free team
