HAITI GARMENT WORKERS MAKE LESS THAN SUBSISTENCE WAGES

Haitian garment workers, who took to the streets earlier this year to demand a tripling of the minimum wage, still earn just $5.36 a day. A new Solidarity Center study finds that they should earn paid four times their current salaries just to keep pace with the cost of living.

BOLT DELIVERY DRIVERS IN KYIV DEMAND FAIR COMPENSATION

Ukraine's delivery workers have continued to serve customers despite the dangers of war. Prohibited from striking while Ukraine is under martial law, they gathered at Bolt’s office to demand higher minimum payments and a boost in per-kilometer pay to compensate for inflation.

REPORT: CAMBODIA GARMENT WORKERS SUFFER EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Excessive heat, flooding and pollution are some of the negative environmental effects a majority of garment workers in Cambodia say they have experienced in their factories, resulting in lost pay, illness and other hardships, according to a new study.

LABOR CENTER OPENS IN MEXICO TO 'MEET HISTORIC MOMENT'

A new labor center housed at the Autonomous University of Querétaro in central Mexico opened in August with the promise of supporting workers who want to know their rights and how to mobilize, organize unions and collectively bargain. The center is supported by the Solidarity Center and the UCLA Labor Center.

This video brings a message of hope from Kyrgyzstan's app-based drivers, who together are demanding increased fares and recognition as official employees to access their rights and benefits as workers.

With that growth, however, comes increasing vulnerability as they benefit from few legal rights and protections, and suffer low wages, erratic scheduling and anti-union discrimination. A recent survey of Kyrgyz drivers outlines their work environment.
