By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news: Donald Trump is officially running for president in 2024.

And while I feel a great deal of fear for our country, I’m reminded of why I wake up every day to work to elect leaders who will not only protect this country, but make it a better place for families like yours and mine.

Because in the face of harmful leaders like Donald Trump, we have no choice but to respond to his attempts to incite dangerous violence, hatred, and vitriol with an even greater sense of purpose, belief, and collective determination that we will not let him and his extremist allies win again.

After he lost the 2020 election, Donald Trump (desperately) attempted to hold on to power by any means necessary. Part of his strategy involved leaning on state Attorneys General across the country, in hopes that he could convince them to overturn the election results in their states and at the Supreme Court. Republican AGs and candidates across the country have lined up to grovel at Trump’s feet, hoping for his approval and for an endorsement. I can say this to you for certain: Democratic AGs will always put the law and our country first.

This year, Trump aggressively campaigned in some of the swing states he targeted for his coup in 2020, including Michigan, Nevada and Arizona. His endorsed candidates in these states are dangerous leaders – in or out of office – who are threatening our next presidential election and the future of our country. We can never stop fighting their lies and underhanded tactics, no matter if there is an election going on or not.

There’s no question that protecting these states will be a challenging task, but with your help, we can fight our way to victory. Donald Trump has an army of resources, connections, and deep pocket supporters that he is leaning on to help support him. We need to match that energy with digital and television ads, and organizing that will win races nationwide.
