John —
I know a lot of folks out there choose their resolutions for the new year carefully, and do their best to meet them. This year, I’m opting for something a bit different: I want to let you know what I’m wishing for in 2020.
But first, I’d like to share a quick photo with you:
For my daughter, Caroline, I wish that she be accepted at the college of her choice, and with her, I hope that all others wanting to further their education are able to do so.
For my son, Will, I wish that he completes his Eagle Scout badge, and like so many in his generation, continue down the path of public service.
For my wife, Elizabeth, I wish that she continue her work alongside her fellow educators to improve outcomes for public school children in our state.
For myself, I wish that I earn the opportunity to represent the state that I love in the U.S. Senate.
For all of North Carolina, I wish that everyone enjoys a peaceful, prosperous, and healthy new year.
For everyone who's receiving these emails, I also wanted to thank you for helping us hit our end-of-year fundraising goal, and wish you the peace that comes with not receiving more requests for a few days.
Since we began this campaign, the groundswell of support has been incredible and inspiring to see. North Carolinians are ready for change and this year, we’re going to make sure they get it.
From my family to yours, I hope your new year is off to a great start.
