Hello Ohio Dem,
Welcome to the first edition of our Project Battleground 2020 weekly newsletter. You are receiving this update because you have been an active grassroots supporter in the past -- and this year, we will need your support more than ever as we look forward to the biggest election of our lifetimes. Ohio can and will be the state that ends the Trump presidency, but it's going to take every single one of us to turn the Buckeye State blue in 2020.
Here's a simple action you can take right now -- please forward this email to three friends and encourage them to sign up to receive our weekly updates ([link removed]). Every Friday you'll receive an email with news you can share with your networks about how Donald Trump is breaking his promises and how Ohio Democrats are fighting for good-paying jobs, affordable health care and brighter futures for every Ohio family. Please share these stories on social media to help us get our message out.
Thank you for being a part of this,
David Pepper
Chair
Ohio Democratic Party
TRUMP WATCH
Trump Comes To Ohio, As Jobs Leave
Donald Trump made five visits to Ohio in 2019, and he's coming to Toledo next week for his first campaign stunt of 2020 -- even as more than 4,000 jobs have disappeared from the state since January.
It's clear why Donald Trump keeps returning to Ohio: our state is in play because of Trump's broken promises and failed policies. When the final numbers are in, it's likely that 2019 will have been the first year since 2009 -- the height of the Great Recession -- that Ohio lost jobs, and Trump's disastrous trade war by tweet has been a major reason why. In December, the Federal Reserve found that the president's failed trade policies have caused manufacturing job losses, and they've also hammered Ohio farmers, small businesses and consumers.
