Hi John,

This election season, we broke records for voter turnout in early voting and, as of today, an estimated 112 million people voted in the 2022 midterm elections (with votes still being counted)! This was anchored by young people who turned out to vote — and whose impact we will continue to see.
But the election isn’t over yet. For the second time in less than two years, Georgia will see a runoff election for the U.S Senate.
Wondering what’s happening in Georgia and how you can get involved? We’ve got the answers to your questions on the upcoming runoff election:

1. When is the Georgia runoff election?
The Georgia runoff election will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Early voting begins no later than Monday, November 28th and ends on Friday, December 2nd. Voters may also request a mail-in ballot. Georgia voters can request their ballot today!
FYI — You must already be registered to vote in the state of Georgia to vote in the runoff. Not sure if you’re registered? Head over to weall.vote/georgia to check your voter registration status today. >>> [[link removed]]

2. Why does Georgia have a runoff law?
The Georgia runoff law has Jim Crow roots and was created in the 1960s and was seen as additional roadblocks for Black people to vote. Under Georgia election law, if no candidate obtains over 50% of the vote, a runoff is triggered and the top two candidates will face off again in a new election held four weeks after Election Day.

3. Who are the candidates?
The current United States Senator Raphael Warnock (D) is running against challenger Herschel Walker (R).

4. Why is the December runoff important?
Previous runoff victories can and have reshaped Congress, and they have been decided by small margins. Your vote will decide the future of Georgia and the entire country — on issues like access to health care, policing in our communities, how this country combats climate change, and more.

5. What can I do if I'm not a Georgia voter?
