John, it was amazing...
With well over 2,000 participants, Never Is Now at the Javits Center in New York was packed last week! Another 5,000 people tuned in online from across the country and around the world to take action. To speak out. To learn. To show strength by joining together in the world’s largest annual summit on antisemitism and hate.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
At Never Is Now there was no left or right, just people passionate about what’s right or wrong. We were gratified to hear from President Biden in a recorded message for our attendees, saying that “the failure to call out hate is complicity” and sending the heartening message that “America stands with you. I stand with you.”
From the other side of the political aisle, Congresswoman Liz Cheney took to the mainstage where she reminded us just days after contentious elections to reject extremism and that “we absolutely have policy disagreements, but we recognize that there’s something much bigger at stake and that we have to come together and stand for fundamental democratic principles, stand for the rule of law.”
In my annual State of Hate discussion, I talked about finding new ways to solve the problems we face. Many of our ideas are about going upstream. Rather than just fight the battles when they come to our doors, ADL is working to move upstream to disrupt antisemitism and violence before they reach our doors.
An exciting new way to do that was announced at Never Is Now. After adidas balked at cutting ties with Kanye West after his anti-Jewish outbursts, we told the company’s leadership “We will work with you. We will praise you if and when you do the right thing. But until then, ADL will hammer you as hard as we can.” The President of adidas North America, Rupert Campbell, joined us on stage to announce a seven-figure investment in programs for high school athletes, working with our education team to stop hate before it takes shape.
As a member of the ADL community, please take the time to
