Democrat,

The first week of the new year is always an exciting time in politics, with victorious candidates from the past election being sworn-in to office to begin their new terms representing their constituents. Many of the officials being sworn-in are Democrats who won seats in the November 2019 election, and we are all very proud of them all.

Some of the most exciting new beginnings happening this week belong to new Democratic officials who were part of our “21 in 21” social media campaign in the last election. Our party organization selected these candidates in cooperation with county chairs throughout the state, and we promoted the candidates on our social media channels and with paid ads targeted to their home jurisdictions. Congratulations to our 21 in 21 candidates who will be sworn-in this week!

Hamilton Mayor Jeff Martin

Somerset County Freeholder Melonie Marano

Bergenfield Mayor Arvin Amatorio

Chatham Mayor Thad Kobylarz

Governor Murphy has a packed schedule this week traveling the state to swear-in Democrats and celebrate our victories. He has already attended ceremonies this week honoring Clinton Mayor Janice Kovach, Hopewell Mayor Kristin McLaughlin, Wayne Councilwoman Fran Ritter and Cranford Mayor Patrick Giblin. Moving into the weekend, the Governor will swear in Somerset County Freeholder Melonie Marano, Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia, Fairview Mayor Vincent Bellucci, Dover Mayor Carolyn Blackman, Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, Madison Mayor Bob Conley, Union County Freeholder Rebecca Williams and Atlantic County Freeholder Ernest Coursey. He will also attend reorganization ceremonies in Burlington County and Millburn Township.

Cory 2020 launched a six-figure TV buy in Iowa this week with a 60 second spot that tells the story of Cory’s career-long record of success in building uncommon coalitions. Cory was also greeted to packed rooms in Nevada to start the week, and then rang in the New Year in Iowa where he received a long list of new endorsers before heading to New Hampshire and then spending his weekend in South Carolina. To find out how you can be a part of Cory’s grassroots movement to unite our country, visit corybooker.com/get-involved.

Thank you,

Chairman John Currie
