Folks,
Just wanted to make sure you saw the good news – yesterday we officially opened the Silver Line Extension!
This is a project that I’ve been working on for literal decades – as a member of the Commonwealth Transportation Board, as Governor, and now as Senator. After years of planning, construction, and negotiations to get it open on time, I’m proud to say we got it DONE, just in time for your Thanksgiving travel!
Now, Dulles Airport will be more accessible than ever to travelers all over the DMV region. Metro passengers and drivers alike will benefit, because these new stops will alleviate road congestion and crashes across NoVa. It’s also a huge economic boon, because communities all along the route are going to be making huge investments surrounding these new stops. Companies all over NoVa will be better connected and able to continue to grow.
We’re building a stronger, less polluted, more efficient, more prosperous and less congested NoVa with this project. It wasn’t easy or as fast as we’d hoped, but follow-through on projects that actually impact the lives of Virginians is so important to me. Yesterday, we checked off a critical priority that was years in the making. See you all on the Silver Line!
If you want to share the good news, you can share my posts on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. If you want to read more about the opening, there are some great articles.
Sincerely,
