Friend,
I’m ecstatic to announce that the International Drug Policy Reform Conference is back! Please save the date and join us October 18-21, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. Share your excitement using the hashtag #Reform2023.
This is the world’s premier gathering of drug policy reformers coming together to learn, collaborate, strategize, and mobilize to end the drug war and build a new world where health, equity, and human rights are front and center.
Attendees will spend three days building community with people committed to finding alternatives to the war on drugs while participating in sessions given by leading experts from around the world. More than 1,200 attendees representing over 50 countries joined us at our last conference in St. Louis, MO in 2019.
After making the right but painful decision to pause this biennial conference in 2021 to protect people due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to bring it back next year in Phoenix, Arizona. And we are taking every precaution to make this event as safe as possible for everybody.
Since the last conference in 2019, we at the Drug Policy Alliance have released our new strategic vision which we are eager to share with attendees and organize around bold, cutting-edge reforms to end the drug war and drug war punishment in all its forms including:
- Decriminalizing Drugs and Building Health-Based Alternatives
- Ensuring Our Systems Help, Not Hurt by Uprooting the Drug War from Our Daily Lives
- Reinvesting Resources into Communities and Divesting from Punitive Police Responses
- Rethinking and Reducing Punishment of People in the Drug Trade
- Legalizing and Regulating Drugs the Right Way
It’s been far too long since we’ve come together for this conference, and we intend on making this the best one yet! Please save the date to join us in October 2023 and we’ll be in touch soon with important updates about hotels, registration, scholarships, and more. ‘
Forward this e-mail to an interested friend or share your excitement using the hashtag #Reform2023.
