The initial reports from the midterm elections are in, and so far, election processes across the country are playing out as they should. But this election also showed that our work to give voters justified confidence in our elections is more important than ever.
Our team worked with the Election Protection Coalition through Election Day, monitoring and troubleshooting voting equipment issues and pulling from resources like the Verifier and Voting Equipment Database. Overall, election workers administered the election without major incidents and were able to keep voters voting, even as they were under intense pressure and scrutiny.
But we also saw the continued weaponization of disinformation about voting equipment, with bad actors amplifying routine voting equipment issues to spread falsehoods about the validity of the election. We helped sort fact from fiction, giving voters, our coalition partners on the ground, and the media trusted information about how votes are cast and counted.
