It’s official – Donald Trump is running to be the Republican nominee for
President in 2024.

Donald Trump first prevailed in 2016 by running the most openly divisive
and hate-filled campaign in modern history. Since then, Republican voters
have fully embraced the MAGA movement, re-nominating Trump in 2020 and
still doing everything they can to spread the Big Lie.

So how do we stop him?

The same way did in 2020, by building a powerful movement for change that
fights for progressive ideas and inspires young and independent voters to
show up to the polls.

With the first votes to be cast in the presidential primaries only a
little over a year away, the fight to beat Donald Trump and Republican
extremists in 2024 has to start now. Trump already has a massive war chest
with over $100 million, but with enough resources, we can organize the
people-powered movement it takes to beat that kind of big money.

Donald Trump isn’t an aberration, he is as Republican as it gets. He is
the product of decades of far right-wing Republican rhetoric and policies.
Nothing Trump says and does is new to the Republican Party.

Whether it's bashing immigrants, favoring the wealthy and corporate
elites, or pushing to destroy key government agencies like the USPS and
EPA, his hateful views and policies are a continuation of Ronald Reagan in
the 1980s, Newt Gingrich in the 1990s, George W. Bush in the 2000s, and
the Koch Brother funded Tea Party movement in the 2010s.

 

The thing is other potential Republican nominees who may run share the
same views as Trump. We’re already hearing rumblings that other extremists
like Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Mike Pompeo may run.

It's up to us to expose every single one of them.

If the Democratic Party works to genuinely embrace the progressive
movement and ideas that stopped the red wave this year, we can defeat
Trump or whoever the Republicans nominate in 2024.
