Friend: In a few weeks, Iowa caucus-goers will start selecting the Democratic nominee for president -- and the race for the White House is going to start consuming a lot more attention in the media and in voters' minds.

The truth is that even if a Democrat is in the White House for the next four or eight years, she (or he) will need a Democratic House majority to work with. So we can't allow Republicans to sweep state-level races and gerrymander themselves into power the way they did in 2010!

We have to act now to make sure that the officials who draw the lines for the next decade are committed to fair maps -- not gerrymandered partisan majorities that don't reflect the will of the voters.
