Houston, TX – This evening, Congressman-Elect Wesley Hunt congratulated President Donald Trump on his campaign announcement to become the 47^th President of the United States.

"Donald J. Trump is exactly the man America needs to save our nation from its rapid decline, courtesy of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party," said Wesley Hunt.  "As President Trump campaigns for President of the United States, he will have my full support everywhere I go.

"Under President Trump, we had the best economy in the history of our country," said Hunt.  "Unemployment was at an all-time low, black Americans were employed at the highest rate ever, our stock market was at a record high, and taxes for the middle class were cut tremendously. 

"Under President Trump, we achieved American energy independence.  Land leases were abundant, permits were issued rapidly, and his administration viewed the industry as a necessity for society, not as an existential threat.  Because of President Trump’s leadership on energy, communities like Houston thrived and Americans across the nation enjoyed record-low prices at the pump and on their energy bills.

"Under President Trump, we had world peace.  The United States Embassy in Israel was moved to Jerusalem, the Abraham Accords were ratified, Iran was not on a path to have a nuclear weapon, North Korea was in talks to denuclearize, Russia did not invade or annex a sovereign country, and China's invasion of Taiwan was not imminent. 

"The difference between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden could not be more stark, which is why I look forward to enthusiastically supporting Donald Trump's bid for the White House."
