Friend,
I have spent my life in Minnesota, as did my parents, and their parents before them. They raised me with Minnesota values and taught me to always stand up for our community. But these days, communities like ours often don’t have a voice in Washington. We need people in Congress who are going to fight for Minnesotans. That's why I'm running for Congress
Will you join me on my journey to be that representative for the people of Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District?

I’ve spent my life advocating for accessible healthcare and affordable prescription drug coverage. I learned the importance of fighting for the people early on in my life - when my brother was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I went door to door in my neighborhood with a clipboard as a 10-year-old to raise money for the American Diabetes Association
The stakes changed when I was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 13. It was very difficult for me to accept that my life was going to different. It took time, and a lot of support from my family and friends, to move forward. But once I did, I found my voice and promised myself that I’d always make sure my voice was heard. That I would always be an advocate for the people who need one the most.
Advocacy can be hard, but fighting for people’s healthcare and their survival gives me strength. That’s why every year since 2002, I’ve been meeting with Democratic and Republican Members of Congress to urge them to support people, like me, who have Type 1 diabetes.
This March, I met with the Congressman from my home district to try to build support for the diabetes community. To my surprise, he expressed an interest in championing our cause. I left the meeting excited and quickly emailed his staff. Unfortunately their responses were lacking and in the end, he promised a lot but never followed through.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough of empty promises from Washington politicians.
I’ll never back down in the face of adversity. In Congress, I won't be beholden to corporate special interests or party bosses and I will be an independent advocate willing to do the hard work necessary to get results for Minnesota families.
That is why I am running for Congress. I know finding solutions to our many problems won’t be easy, but I’ve been fighting for my whole life and I’m not about to stop now.
I am a grassroots fundraiser and that is what this campaign is about. Can you chip in $5, $10, $25, or more to help me get my campaign off the ground?

I will continue to work for everyone in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District. And that is why you can count on me.
Thank you for joining the team!
