Hi John,

Here we are, one week after Election Day, and which party controls the House remains to be seen.

California is still counting ballots and this race, along with 10 other California races, are still too close to call. I wasn't kidding when I said that path to holding our House Majority goes straight through this district. No matter how we count it, there is no retaining our majority without winning CA-27.

Despite what some pundits are saying: there is still a path to victory for this campaign and a Democratic-controlled House.

Here’s a look at where the race stands:
  • 65% of the total ballots have been counted.
  • I'm trailing Mike Garcia, but there are still hundreds of thousands of votes to count in LA County.
  • Included in this count are tens of thousands of mail-in and drop-off ballots.
This race is still very much in play, and we're not going anywhere until every single vote is counted. We'll keep you posted with updates as they come in.

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for good news.

P.S. We are in desperate need of volunteers to cure ballots in district. (Votes that have already been cast but have a missing or mismatched signature.) Sign up to make sure every vote is counted >>
