One man's dying wish gave Roberto a second chance at life.

Roberto's former guardian kept turkeys, chickens, and other birds as companions rather than for meat. When he passed away, his family asked if we could help with their care. Out of respect for their loved one, they hoped to send the birds to a sanctuary - not slaughter.

We welcomed Roberto to Farm Sanctuary and a continued life free from harm.

Safe at our New York shelter, Roberto "The Adventurer" spends his days exploring, snacking, and mingling with his friends - a diverse group including chickens and ducks. Such interspecies friendships often help people see that despite our differences, we can find common ground.

Likewise, people connect with our Adopt a Turkey Project for different reasons. It may be a beloved family tradition, an easy opportunity to advocate for farm animals, or the first chance to join thousands in a compassionate celebration. Whatever your reason, there's room for everyone at our table.

This year, sponsor a rescued turkey at Farm Sanctuary instead of eating one - join us now with a one-time $35 gift!

ADOPT ROBERTO

Your symbolic adoption supports Roberto's ongoing care at Farm Sanctuary. At the same time, you'll help us rescue other animals in need, advocate for agricultural reforms, and help people see turkeys in a different light.

To show our appreciation, we'll send you an adoption certificate featuring photos of Roberto, his rescue story, and fun facts about his interests and personality.

Send a print or digital certificate as a gift - or keep it to display on your holiday table.

Thanks to you, Roberto can continue his greatest adventure: a life of his choosing.

With love and gratitude,

Farm Sanctuary
