Hi John -
The Prime Minister of Tuvalu — an island nation in the Pacific — is calling on all nations to create a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty that would:
Pacific islands like Tuvalu are already facing climate effects such as sea level rise and destructive hurricanes – they are quite literally fighting for their own survival. So we are standing in solidarity with Tuvalu and mobilizing our global climate movement at COP27 to send a clear message to world leaders to phase out fossil fuels at COP27.
Alongside Vanuatu, another small island nation in the Pacific, Tuvalu will be delivering this petition to world leaders at COP27. We need 5,000 more signatures to show global momentum. John, will you join the call for the U.S. to follow Vanuatu and Tuvalu and support the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty?
The momentum for the treaty is building, but we only have four more days before COP27 ends. John, will you help us reach 5,000 signatures by adding your name today?
Thank you,
Thanu Yakupitiyage
