Hi John,
A week after Election Day, we’re still waiting for some races to be called. One thing is clear, though: advocates like you showed up and spoke out for children!
In the meantime, we’ve set our sights on our end-of-year goals – because it’s never too early to make your holiday wish list.
Before this year comes to a close, we’re asking Congress to:
1. Strengthen the Global Food Security Act Reauthorization to build resilience and fight the hunger crisis.
2. Renew and invest in the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting program so kids across the nation get the strongest possible start in life.
3. Pass the Child Nutrition Reauthorization to improve and expand federal child nutrition and school meal programs.
4. Codify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to protect Dreamers and move one step closer to a just immigration system.
5. Designate increased funding for programs that protect children’s education, health, safety and futures – here in the U.S. and around the world!
Despite some big wins this midterm cycle, we’ll inevitably face new challenges next year with new members in the House and the Senate.
But together, we’ll work to ensure this Congress finishes strong and the next Congress is a Congress for kids.
Please help us get started today by taking action through one – or more! – of the links above. And we’ll keep you informed in the days ahead on legislative priorities when Congress comes back to session.
Thank you for being a champion for children,
Christy Gleason
