A military parade in Washington on July 4th? Funded with millions of dollars of taxpayer dollars that were meant for the national parks?! Are you kidding me!?

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention. And if you are outraged, allow us to offer an outlet for your feelings.

We got through Bush, and I’m proud to have been part of a resistance that challenged his administration at every turn. As terrible as Trump’s assault on our Republic has become, we’ll make it through this.

But we can’t take this madness lying down.

That’s why our campaign team and volunteers have been part of street actions—alongside thousands of other San Franciscans—challenging Speaker Pelosi’s disturbing deference to Trump. We’ve mobilized nearly every day since the speaker voted to give Trump's administration another $4.6 billion with no protections for either human rights or migrants in crisis.

While responding to crises, we’ll have to keep our vision clear to build a more peaceful world with freedom for all. And all of us will have to raise our voices to breathe that world into being.

I’ve been raising my voice for 20 years, and appreciate you standing with me as we challenge the most powerful corporate politician in the House.

For me, the Fourth of July offers a reminder of the great costs we’ve paid to establish our Republic’s principles. I’m running for Congress to make sure that we retain them before they slip through our fingers.
