Following the excitement, anticipation and tallying of last week’s midterm races, Poynter paused to celebrate journalism’s role in democracy. At the Bowtie Ball on Saturday, we honored Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein with Poynter Medals for Lifetime Achievement. Thanks to many of you for contributing your thoughts on their legacy: Watch the snappy tribute here.
We also shined a light on the essential work of local journalists, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting at our own Tampa Bay Times.
Our founder, Nelson Poynter, used to say: “Every town deserves a newspaper (or news organization) that loves it best.” Here are some resources to help you serve your community best this week.
Note: The Weekly Training Digest will be taking a break next week to celebrate Thanksgiving. Look for the next edition on Nov. 29. We're thankful to you, our valued readers.
