Dear John,
This month, President Trump's racist tweets have been dominating the news cycle and online media. Make no mistake: this is by design. It's a deliberate strategy President Trump is deploying to distract from the fact that his administration's policies have been a failure. All that this administration has managed to achieve is to pack the courts with extreme, right-wing judges and pass a tax plan that only benefits the wealthy few. John, this administration is failing to deliver for the American people, plain and simple. The House has passed landmark legislation to reduce prescription drug prices, protect voting rights, and strengthen gun safety, yet not a single one of these bills have been brought to the Senate floor. President Trump and Leader Mitch McConnell have made the Senate a legislative graveyard. At the same time, the Trump administration is backing a lawsuit that could strike down every last provision of the Affordable Care Act, including protections for over 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions. We can't let President Trump distract us from what's at stake. That's why it's so critical that we take back the Senate in 2020. Will you chip in $5 or more to my re-election campaign? The decisions we make in the next few years will determine the sort of country we are — whether we're going to reclaim our democracy, live up to our ideals, and build an economy that works for everyone — or whether we will continue to see our values and security threatened. Together, we can put our country back on the right track. If you're with me, will you chip in $5 or more to my re-election campaign? Thank you, Chris
