As one of the newest members of the team, it has been a privilege to work alongside such passionate and committed individuals like the ones at GRL. From calling out Commissioners wanting to invest more money in cages while underinvesting in much-needed services; taking on the State of Texas and its racist Operation Lone Star program; to building and strengthening our collective communities, our team is out there actively resisting the present and future that criminalizes Black and brown communities.
In just a short time, I’ve found the community I always wished for but hadn’t found in my career until now, and I am deeply grateful to all the new friendships being formed. More than ever, I am deeply committed to uplifting the meaningful and necessary work being done by our team deep in the heart of Texas.
