John,
I wanted to be sure you saw Alex’s email yesterday.
Though votes are still being counted, Republicans have already won 217 of the 218 districts they need to win to take over the House. Kevin McCarthy is facing a challenge from the MAGA flank, led by Andy Biggs, one of the Republicans who sought a pardon from Donald Trump after January 6th.
MAGA Republicans are furious―and dead set on holding the Debt Limit hostage to demand cuts to Social Security and Medicare.
The American people roundly rejected anti-Social Security Republicans in the election. But all these Republicans care about is pursuing power and profit for their Wall Street paymasters. Donate $7 to Social Security Works today to save Social Security from Republicans!
Alex set an ambitious goal yesterday―read his email below and then chip in to make sure we reach it!
Thanks,

John,
Social Security Works went all out for our endorsed candidates in September and October. That meant that we raised a lot of money for candidates, but not much for ourselves.
Now, with the end of the year almost here, we’re looking at the books and we’re behind where we need to be. And we still need to support Raphael Warnock in the Georgia runoff.
I’m setting an ambitious goal: We need to raise $20,000 this week to keep Social Security Works in the game. Can you chip in $7?
We don’t know yet whether Republicans will take the House of Representatives, but we need to be ready. Kevin McCarthy promised before the election that he would hold the debt ceiling hostage to demand cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and if he claims the Speaker’s gavel with a slim majority, the extremist MAGA Republicans in his caucus will hold him to it. We need to be ready to fight back.
We have to walk and chew gum at the same time. Social Security Works knows how to do that―but we can only do it if we all stand together.
Donate today to help Social Security Works hit our $20,000 goal and save Social Security from MAGA Republicans!
Thanks,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
