One year ago today, I was sworn into Congress and became the only female doctor in the House.
Since then, my Democratic colleagues and I have passed legislation to reduce the price of prescription drugs, combat the gun violence epidemic, protect our planet from climate change, and more. We've been hard at work trying to tackle the issues that matter most to you, and I won't stop fighting until they're signed into law.
But I wouldn't have been able to fight for Washington families in Congress without you, John. Your support is what got me here and is what allows me to stand up for the people of our district. And in 2019, because you stepped up, we were able to hit our crucial end-of-year fundraising goal!
As we start an election year, I know we have a tough fight ahead of us. It's not going to be easy, but with this grassroots team on my side, I know we can win in November and continue making progress for our families.
Every day for the last year, I have been honored to be your voice in Congress, and I look forward to seeing all we can accomplish together in the new year.
