Dear John,

In light of our ongoing work around how 'international development' is presented we thought now would be a good time to revisit our 'Honest Accounts' report, detailing how wealth is extracted from the African continent.

In 2017, we published the latest edition of the ' Honest Accounts [[link removed]]' report, alongside partners from across Africa and Europe, exposing how resources are drained from Africa, leaving millions of people trapped in poverty. Africa was found to suffer a net deficit of $41.3 billion a year.

A recent consultation we undertook alongside partners from around the world concluded that 'global redistribution' is a more appropriate term than 'aid'.

To address global inequalities, poor health, and poverty, governments and corporations must be held accountable for exploitative practices and made to pay their fair share to people and communities in the so-called Global South.

Together, we are continuing to build global alliances to expose and challenge the root causes of poverty. So we can build a healthier, more prosperous future for all.
