Dear John,

Political pundits are still going through the data from last week's election, and in some places, the votes are still being tallied. But the one thing everyone agrees the polling showed was that Americans are sick of the liberal agenda coming out of Washington. It now looks like the electorate has delivered a divided Congress beginning in January.

But Democrats in Congress are doubling down. Last night, as the Senate reconvened for the first time since the election, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced that one of the Democrats' first orders of business is to ram through a redefinition of marriage bill. The (Dis)Respect for marriage Act will go much further than Obergefell by supercharging the ongoing lawsuits against people of faith who still believe in natural marriage. Apparently, the lesson Democrats took from last week's election was to get as much done now before the new Congress (and divided party control) come to Washington.

Would you take a moment right now to contact your senators? The key vote is tomorrow, and Democrats need 10 Republicans to join them on this vote.

Did you go to the polls last week to redefine marriage? I know I didn't. But your elected representatives in Washington need to hear that from you before the Senate votes tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Quena Gonzalez
