Hi John,
The government has made it clear that they’re not currently serious about tackling the plastic crisis.
Not only did they miss the legal deadline to publish environmental targets last month, they also admitted they’ve got no plans to set a target to reduce single-use plastic. [1][2]
Over 100,000 people have signed a petition demanding urgent action to tackle the plastic waste crisis, will you join them? It takes just two minutes:

After years of talking about being a global leader in tackling plastic pollution, the government has so far managed to crack down on a (not so) grand total of three single-use plastic items and microbeads.[3]
But the Environment Act was a chance to change this - and to finally bring in ambitious targets to significantly reduce and eventually almost eliminate single-use plastic.
Right now the UK produces more plastic waste per person than any other country apart from the USA [4] - but this is totally unsustainable and the government needs to step in to help change this. There’s overwhelming public and political support to reduce plastic consumption, so what is the government waiting for?
Add your name to urge the government to tackle the plastic waste crisis by setting an ambitious target to reduce single-use plastic. It takes just two minutes.
