Hi John, It’s no secret that Rep. Lauren Boebert is rumored to have been an escort and had an abortion prior to serving in Congress. Boebert is a known bigot1, she's spewed hatred against Rep. Ilhan Omar2, and she claims to be anti-choice3. Boebert has never once taken a stand for sex workers or for women in general. That being said, Democratic strategist, Kurt Bardella, crossed the line on MSNBC when he cracked a joke that Boebert’s election loss could be OnlyFans’ gain. As if having an OnlyFans is something to be ashamed of. It’s not. As Business Insider reported, I clapped back at Bardella. After a Twitter exchange, Kurt did apologize for his careless and harmful words about OnlyFans and demonstrated a willingness to learn from his mistake. We cannot claim to be any better than the people we oppose if our values only apply to the people we like. Sex work is work. If Boebert wants to make an OnlyFans, there isn’t any shame to that. As for her entire platform being built on hypocrisy? She’s answering for that with a potential election loss. It’s time we elect officials who stand by their words. I always do.
