As president of the March for Life, I was incredibly honored to co-host Focus on the Family’s “Alive from New York” event.

I admit to doubting the wisdom of hosting an outdoor rally in Times Square – particularly given the chaos, the sensuality and the “spirit” of the crowds. Yet in one of the busiest and noisiest intersections in the world, we all heard the heartbeat of Abby Johnson’s preborn baby … and you could hear a pin drop. That moment was truly the keynote of the event.

In a similar way, each year’s March for Life presents a new theme – a keynote for the year, if you will.

I was convinced that my wife was just emotional or intentionally not explaining what she meant. She seemed convinced that I simply didn't care about her or anything she had to say. We talked about the need to communicate all the time. But we never connected.

Then the day came when things blew up – but in an amazing way. Cindy used a powerful communication tool, a word picture, to change my life and marriage.
