Dear AJC Supporters,
In the face of recent attacks against the Jewish community and in light of the results of AJC’s recent survey on antisemitism in the United States, which found that an alarming number of Jews are afraid to “show” their Judaism, AJC is launching #JewishandProud social media campaign.
We’re live on Facebook and Twitter and we need your help to fill our social media feeds with images of Jewish pride this new year!
On Sunday, January 5, please join us in a solidarity march in New York that AJC is co-sponsoring with ADL, JCRC, Federation and the New York Board of Rabbis. Buses are leaving from DC, Rockville and Northern Virginia organized by JCRC. More information can be found at https://www.jcouncil.org/node/124.
On Monday, January 6, AJC invites the Jewish community around the world to take one or all of the following steps:
Wear your Judaism with pride! Whether a kippah, a necklace with a Jewish symbol, or a t-shirt written in Hebrew, we urge you to wear your Jewishness publicly. Post a photo of yourself wearing your Jewish pride on social media using the hashtag #JewishandProud. If you like, include a sentence explaining why you are proud to be Jewish.
Hold up your #JewishandProud sign! Whether or not you have something identifiably Jewish to wear, print our #JewishandProud sign. This is an opportunity to celebrate our Jewishness, and creativity is encouraged. Have an iconic landmark in your city? Take your photo in front of it.
Add a filter to your Facebook profile photo by clicking here!
Let us know you are participating! Sign up for our #JewishandProud day at ajc.org/JewishandProud. We will highlight some of the most pride-filled and creative posts on AJC’s social media accounts.
Not Jewish? We still appreciate the support! You can add this frame to your Facebook photo in solidarity with the Jewish community.
We want to make this as big as possible so please help us to spread the word to get Jews and non-Jews to participate in this important campaign.
Best wishes in the new year!
