Since 1972, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park has inspired the imaginations of nearly 70 million guests worldwide who have joined us to experience the wonder of wildlife and nature across expansive and dynamic habitats. As we look ahead to our next 50 years of life-changing moments, we are reminded that we are all interconnected.

Today we begin construction on the largest and most transformative project in the Safari Park's history. Denny Sanford Elephant Valley will completely reimagine the heart of the Safari Park, bringing our community into the epicenter of our global conservation efforts for elephants. This one-of-a-kind home for our African elephant family will change the footprint of the Safari Park, and the future for endangered elephants worldwide.

In this completely reimagined experience, wildlife allies like you will make lifelong connections with these gentle giants and see the world we share through their eyes—while at the same time, helping us secure a future for their species. As our elephant family continues to grow, our hopes and dreams do too, and we couldn't be more excited for you to join us on this journey. While building this brand-new experience over the next few years, viewing locations will be modified and may at times be limited.
