John,
Before I ask you for anything, I want to thank you for everything. Thank you for your hard work, your stories, and your dreams which have given life to our movement. I am humbled and honored to be your Lieutenant Governor-Elect.
Last Tuesday, you showed the nation what a small but mighty state can do when democracy is on the ballot. You chose unity over division, expanding rights over restricting rights, hope over fear. You chose Wes and me to be your next Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
Ever since I came to this country in 1972, I’ve never stopped being excited for the promise of America. I will never stop fighting to make sure that promise is available to everyone. And this promise begins with a commitment to deliver a Maryland where we Leave No One Behind.
From Western Maryland to Southern Maryland, Charm City to Pocomoke City to Ocean City, Gorgeous Prince George’s to Mountain Maryland. Our Maryland is one where people feel safe in their communities and in their skin, where we show the nation that our rights are not up for grabs.
The moral to this story is, NEVER EVER underestimate the underdogs. And guess what? We’ll always look out for the underdogs.
We see you. We hear you. We believe in you. And Wes and I are going to fight for you.
Our work starts now. I am honored and proud to serve as chair of our historic transition team. We look forward to working in partnership with leaders across Maryland to uplift Wes’ and my commitment to leave no one behind.
It is our commitment to make this transition the most inclusive and transparent transition Maryland has ever seen, and we invite you to join us to share your ideas.
Marylanders, please visit http://mooremillermd.com to share your ideas with us and learn more about our transition work.
We’re just getting started!
Thank you again,
Aruna
