John,
I am honored to officially be Congresswoman-elect for Pennsylvania's 12th District. We ran a people-powered campaign centered on the representation of the multiracial working class, and we're just getting started.
Now, it's time to prepare to join the 118th Congress and get to work making progress on the issues important to the people of Western Pennsylvania.
In a minute I'll explain more, but first, let me ask: John, if you can, will you chip in $5 or more to ensure we have the resources to fight for racial, economic, and environmental justice in Congress?
It's important to me that you know my priorities in Congress, so I want to share some of the issues I plan to work on right away with you:
Economic justice and union jobs: I'm ready to fight for a robust labor movement where every worker can be a member of a union and be paid a livable wage.
Environmental justice: I believe everyone deserves clean air and safe drinking water, and in Congress, I'll fight for a Green New Deal to transition to a 100% clean and renewable energy economy.
Medicare for All: Our healthcare system is fundamentally broken, and Medicare for All will save lives. I'll legislate to ensure no one has to fear losing coverage because of preexisting conditions or arbitrary life events.
Reproductive justice: We must actively pursue legislation that codifies our abortion rights and makes reproductive health care more accessible like the Women’s Health Protection Act and the EACH Act.
John, starting the moment I'm sworn in as PA-12's Congresswoman, I promise to organize and legislate with only our community in my mind. Please, if you're with me, will you chip in now to ensure we have the resources to make real progress in Congress?
Thank you,
Summer
