Public Notice: Public Meeting Notice for City of Sheridan Landfill Cell 10 Phase I Project

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Sheridan, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at 12:00 PM, local time, on December 15, 2022, in the City Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project: Sheridan Landfill Cell 10 Phase I Project which will be constructed in phases. Phase I will be constructed in the existing compost area and atop the southern portion of T678, with an approximate airspace capacity of 764,000 cubic yards. Phase I of Cell 10 will be constructed and available for disposal of any excavated waste associated with the selected remedial corrective measure. Therefore, the cost of excavating and disposing of emplaced waste was evaluated based on Cell 10 airspace construction cost. Any pertinences related to this project as determined by DEQ.

At the meeting, the City of Sheridan will present the preliminary design of the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. A preliminary plan of improvements, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at the City of Sheridan, Engineering Department, 55 Grinnell Plaza, Sheridan, WY. Contact Mr. Nathan Rager, City of Sheridan Sr. Project Manager, at (307) 675-4236.

Based on current cost estimates, the City of Sheridan plans to borrow $4,115,000 from the Wyoming Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. No increased user fees are anticipated to repay the loans. The loan terms are requesting a 1.25% interest rate for 20 years if principal forgiveness is not available.

Written comments are also welcome. Send written comments to Nathan Rager, 55 Grinnell Plaza, Sheridan, Wyoming, 82801 by 12:00 PM on December 15, 2022.
