Elon Musk ordered the remaining workers on his payroll back to the office pronto. The day of the remote worker is over, he says. The question is, will Musk’s order eventually affect how you work? Lots of employers would like to issue such an order but employees have the upper hand at the moment and the majority want at least some days to work remotely. I will show you some brand-new research from Stanford that tells us who likes remote work the most. You will also see how much time people say they save working remotely by not shaving, dressing up or even brushing their teeth when they stay home. Come to think of it, if you are not going to brush your teeth it is better for you to stay home.
That time a journalist paid $8 and created a fake Twitter account with a U.S. Senator’s name. Hilarity and outrage ensued. The Senator sent a pointed note to Elon Musk asking essentially “what the heck?”
The horrific air show collision between two vintage aircraft this weekend raises new questions about why we hold these events. There are about 300 of them held in America every year, and while there is some risk to pilots, people on the ground are rarely injured or killed. The FAA studied more than 100 air show crashes and found there is little commonality between the kinds of aircraft involved, the age of the pilot or even the maneuvers being performed when the crash occurred. Improper maintenance is rarely an issue in crashes.
