Friend – my roots are planted deeply in Georgia soil.
I grew up in public housing on the west side of Savannah – and I attended Morehouse College, a historically Black university in Atlanta. I went on what I called a "full faith" scholarship, meaning I didn't know how I would pay for my first full semester.
But through hard work and the support of my community, I was the first in my family to graduate from college – and then became the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Martin Luther King Jr.
I know firsthand how attending an HBCU prepared me for a life of service – and I'm fighting tooth and nail in the Senate to make sure every kid has the opportunity to achieve their American dream.
But this runoff is going to be an uphill battle: Experts are predicting an incredibly close race, and there are only 23 days left to make a difference. I urgently need your grassroots support to pull ahead and win: Please, will you pitch in $5 or more now, ahead of tonight's midnight deadline, to protect this seat and keep Georgia blue – so I can keep giving all folks a voice in our government?

Thank you, friend. With your help, I know we can win.
