John,
When I look at the City of Chicago, I see hope. I see a future brimming with opportunity, but only if we choose that future and fight for it.
That's why I’m running for Mayor of Chicago. |
I’ve had many titles throughout my career in public service. Community organizer. County Commissioner. Alderman. State Senator. Congressman. But the one most important to me is Chicagoan.
My life’s work has been to build the coalitions we need to make change and progress. It’s what I learned from our first Black mayor, Harold Washington. From supporting schools for low-income families, to working to curb youth violence, to securing funding for our City infrastructure, this is what we accomplished together. It’s time to set aside our differences and stand together to ensure that this city is safe. That we are a city where businesses want to set up shop. That we are a city where young people want to start a family.
We are being called to take our city’s destiny into our own hands – Because we believe in a Chicago for everyone. A welcoming Chicago. An inclusive Chicago.
It’s time we step up and stand together, because we know Chicago only has better days ahead. I hope you’ll join me. |
