Happy weekend, friends!

A PERSONAL NOTE

 

Good morning, friends! I hope things are going well for you.

I thought I'd share a photo of my handsome boy, Thor. He is up there in
years - well past the life-span for his breed - and having some mobility
issues. I moved my furniture around to give him a clear shot to the door
with nothing to walk around, and a carpet the entire way so he can't
slip. I think he looks super happy with his new spot.

Last summer I grabbed some clearance yarn at Michaels. If you knit or
crochet you know how pricey that "chunky" yarn is. Well, I got enough to
make a nice little throw for the sofa, which I finished this past week.
I know, I know, my rows aren't even and colors stop halfway through. I
think it has more personality.

Really, this is sort of like our situation in the world at large right
now. We can't always make things perfect by former standards, but by
seeing the beauty in imperfection and delighting in the quirks, we'll be
a whole lot happier than if we focus on what is no longer easily
available.

It's easy to get down when things don't go as we'd hoped. We have to
find a way to release our attachment to that image of our future so that
we can imagine a new future that we can achieve.

I know that I've personally had to do this more than once in my life. I
never wanted to do it again. But sometimes the Universe has other ideas
and the best thing we can do is accept it and move forward with
optimism.

Just because it's different, it doesn't mean it's bad!
