At any given night at midnight in America, there’s a parent whose child has an out-of-control fever. They call the pediatrician and ask “What should I do?” They're told: go to the emergency room.

So they put the baby in the back seat of the car and drive to the hospital. They’re sitting in the car looking at those sliding glass doors of the emergency room, one hand on their baby's forehead.
