As election results continue to pour in, the one question everyone’s been asking is, “How did this happen?” How did Democrats do much better than expected in a year that was supposed to be a “red wave”?

One commentator on Fox News had a theory: “These women just went crazy!”

But guess what — it’s actually not crazy for women to fight back against oppressive attempts to control our bodies. 

It’s not crazy for us to show up at the ballot box like our lives depend on it — in many cases, they do. 

We are tired of being called “crazy” for standing up for our rights and our own bodily autonomy. Women are the majority of voters in this country and it’s time for politicians to start taking our concerns seriously, or else they’ll be voted out of office. 

That’s why HER Time exists. To support the women running for office who have the vision and drive to fight for full equality and representation in our government. So it’s no longer a surprise when we show up demanding rights, so our elected officials actually listen when we speak. 

We do that work all year long — not just during elections. And it takes consistent, early investments to see the kind of results we saw on Tuesday. So I’m asking you to chip in to support our work now, and lay the groundwork for 2024 and all the years to come:
