Hi there,

Now that it is said and done, I want to be sure to thank you all. I also want to thank every voter who cast a ballot and participated in their democracy on Tuesday. We may have fallen short, but I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. 

What was clear on the campaign trail is that American politics is broken and people are hungry for new options. I congratulate Congressman Fitzgerald, and hope he will heed that call and renounce the extreme partisan politics that have characterized his service to date.

I want to be sure to thank my amazing wife, Renee, and our two girls, as well as the rest of our family and friends. You make me so proud and I hope I made you proud in this race as well. Thanks also to Calvin and the entire team for your efforts. 

American democracy is not a given. A strong middle class is not a given. Our civil rights are not a given. Our planet is not a given. We must fight to protect and defend our values, and I’ll continue to do so.

I am so proud to have experienced this journey with all of you. Thank you.
