Hi John,
The election results are in, and Dan Crenshaw will remain as our representative for another two years.
I would like to congratulate Dan on his win. I hope for Dan that he will honor the will of the people of our district by representing all of us, not just an extreme right-wing fringe.
But while I might not have won the election tally, I still feel like a winner in this election.
I’m the winner for having met so many new friends, so many people who went from strangers to steadfast supporters, and so many neighbors that I’d not previously known. My life is so much richer now for having connected with all of you. I’m grateful that you joined me on this journey because I couldn’t possibly have done it without you.
I’m the winner for having had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team of staff and volunteers. Throughout the election process, they’ve been by my side—supporting the campaign in big ways, small ways, and everything in between. I am so blessed to have worked with each one of them.
I’m the winner because the sharp right turn so many had predicted for our country didn’t happen. Across the country, voters came together to show they weren’t willing to accept MAGA extremism. We aren’t going to spend the next two years with a Congress dominated by the most radical wing of the Republican party, and we even seem ready to put Trump and his cronies behind us for good.
And I’m the winner because the issues that we talked about during this campaign have resonated with so many voters across the country. From protecting women’s right to choose, to ensuring that we all have access to high-quality, affordable health care, to defending our teachers from the anti-public-school movement, and more—these issues matter, and we helped make sure they were front and center in our national conversation.
That is how we will win next time around: because ideas matter, and we have the ideas that voters want and that we all need. The momentum has already shifted in our favor, so let’s spend the next two years keeping it going.
With thanks for all of our help and support during this election, and for your part in the movement we are creating together,
Robin
