Of 30 countries with universal health care, Canada among highest spenders, but ranks near the bottom for number of doctors, hospital beds, MRIs and has the longest wait times
Comparing Performance of Universal Health Care Countries, 2022 is a new study that compares the performance of Canada’s health-care system to its international peers. The data shows that despite Canada being among the most expensive universal-access health-care systems in the OECD, the country has some of the lowest numbers of doctors, hospital beds, medical technologies, and longest wait times.

Government workers across Alberta receive 5.6% higher wages, on average, than comparable private-sector workers
Comparing Government and Private Sector Compensation in Alberta, 2021 is a new study that finds even after adjusting for differences such as age, gender, education, tenure, type of work, industry, and occupation, government employees are still paid 5.6 per cent higher wages on average in Alberta compared to their private sector counterparts, in addition to many non-wage benefits such as Registered Pension Plans, personal leave, and early retirement.
