John,

Thanks to you, Wes Moore is now Maryland’s Governor-Elect.

On Tuesday, we made history by electing Wes the first Black Governor of Maryland (and only the third Black governor in the United States since Reconstruction) and electing Aruna the first immigrant and first woman of color Lieutenant Governor of Maryland!

Plus, their administration will include Anthony Brown, the first Black Attorney General of Maryland, and Brooke Lierman, Maryland’s first woman Comptroller!

Wes and Aruna didn’t get into this race to make history: they did it to bring Marylanders from all walks of life together to make transformative change. They know they were not the first ones to try — this is just more proof that progress is possible, and that Maryland is leading the way.

The history that matters most to us is the history that we—and the people of this state—are going to make over the next four years.

The journey of this campaign is one that many saw as improbable. We started out polling at just one percent in the most competitive gubernatorial primary in the country, but this team believed and worked hard, and together, we assembled the best campaign this state has ever seen!

What we built together is not just a moment — it is a movement.

Watch our campaign highlight reel here to see how far we’ve come together, then pitch in to keep the MOOREmentum going as Wes and Aruna prepare to lead Maryland forward → [link removed]

Thank you again for everything you’ve done to get us here. We can’t wait for what comes next.
