Indivisibles delivered in down ballot races and our democracy is safer because of it Indivisibles,
On Tuesday night, voters chose to defend democracy up and down the ballot. Today, we’re celebrating the results we saw in state legislature races, and what it means for the integrity of our elections in 2024. In the six states we targeted through our Crush the Coup campaign, Democrats pulled off crucial wins:
✅ In Michigan, Democrats have flipped the legislature for the first time in almost 40 years, and they now have a trifecta in state government.
✅ In Pennsylvania, Democrats flipped the house, ending fourteen years of Republican control of the state legislature.
✅ In Georgia, all six candidates that we backed in our campaign won their elections and helped prevent a MAGA supermajority.
✅ In North Carolina and Wisconsin, Democrats held strong and denied Republicans supermajorities, protecting the veto power of Democratic governors in these states.
In Arizona, we’re still waiting for key races to be called, but there is a real chance Democrats will flip the state senate for the first time in decades.
The candidates from our Crush the Coup slate helped deliver these outcomes, and we're thrilled to be a part of their incredible wins. By Election Day, Indivisibles raised over $200,000 that went directly to our slate of candidates and so far, 20 candidates have won their elections. In these highly competitive, down ballot races, your support could have very well made the difference -- and the result has made our democracy more secure. Here's just one example: at last count, our candidate Mark Moffa held a lead by just TWO VOTES in his state house race in Bucks County, PA. That's how close these races are, and that's how crucial our work was to support them.
Since January 6th, Republicans have been plotting their next coup attempt in broad daylight, and they made their strategy clear: win or retain control of key state legislatures, have them empowered by a MAGA SCOTUS, and use that power to declare Trump the winner in 2024.
Tuesday night, their path to executing that strategy was MAJORLY narrowed, and Indivisibles played a huge role in these races. Whether you donated, spread awareness about the threat posed to our democracy, or helped get out the vote, we’re incredibly grateful to have you in this fight. THANK YOU.
While there are still races being called, here is a list of confirmed wins from our Crush the Coup slate:

In solidarity, Indivisible Team
